RupeeCompass exists to make everyday money decisions less opaque. Most people in India meet their first EMI, credit card statement, or insurance quote long before anyone explains how the numbers are put together. Our mission is simple: give you clear, free calculators that show the working — the formula, the assumptions, and the trade-offs — so you can sit down with a lender, an insurer, or a financial advisor already knowing what to ask.

Who Builds RupeeCompass, and Why

RupeeCompass is an independent, privately run website. It is not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any bank, NBFC, insurer, or comparison platform. Online calculators often ask for a phone number or email address before they show a result; RupeeCompass was built on a different premise. Every calculator runs in your browser, nothing you type leaves your device, and we explain openly how the site earns money on ourHow We Make Money page.

What RupeeCompass Is

RupeeCompass is a free, independent tool that helps you run the numbers on common personal-finance decisions — loan EMIs, eligibility, insurance cover, savings growth, and more — without collecting or storing any of your financial information.

What RupeeCompass Is Not

RupeeCompass is not a bank, NBFC, insurer, or lending service provider. We do not underwrite loans, issue credit decisions, or sell financial products directly. Figures shown by our calculators are indicative estimates only.

Editorial Standards

Every calculator and explainer on RupeeCompass follows the same rules:

  • Standard formulas, stated openly. EMIs use the reducing-balance formula, SIPs use the annuity-due future-value formula, and so on. Where a rule of thumb is used instead of a formula — FOIR bands or income multipliers, for example — we say so.
  • Assumptions are labelled. Default rates, tenures, and limits are illustrative. Wherever a figure changes with government or regulator announcements, such as PPF rates, tax thresholds, or loan-to-value ceilings, we tell you to check the official source.
  • No personalised advice. We explain how things work and show what your numbers imply. We do not tell you which loan, card, policy, or fund to buy.
  • Commercial relationships never change the maths. Any commercial relationship, such as affiliate links or advertising, is disclosed, and results are identical whether or not a page carries one. See How We Make Money.
